Bryn Cottage - A trip back in time to Newport, Pembrokeshire

We recently took a trip down to Pembrokeshire, staying just outside the charming coastal town of Newport, Wales. With its sandy beaches and characterful stone-fronted shops, it was the perfect place for a short, refreshing getaway.

While searching for holiday cottages in Pembrokeshire, I came across Bryn Cottage, managed by The Pembrokeshire Holiday Company. It immediately caught my eye with its unspoiled setting and traditional Welsh character, complete with a red door and cosy interiors, it was an ideal backdrop for showcasing a few favourites from our Welsh inspired gift collection.

With permission granted, I brought along some beautiful pieces from the range to photograph in this authentic space. 

As you approach the cottage, you’re welcomed by breathtaking views of the sea, framed by rolling green fields. Stepping inside felt like travelling back in time: original wall panelling, exposed beams, and classic black and red quarry tiles added to its rustic charm. Every sash window perfectly captured views of the surrounding Welsh countryside and coastline.

Without a TV or Wi-Fi, it truly encouraged us to slow down and reconnect with nature; watching swallows swoop by and tracing the sun’s path across the sky. It was a chance to fully immerse ourselves in the landscape, the culture, and the simple beauty of life in West Wales.
